Dear Randy, Great tutorial - I have really enjoyed it !! In this tutorial you mention a second tutorial on the same subject -FreeStockCharts, where can I find it? Thanks -

Thanks for the feedback & kind words Esther, same to you. The videos on my channel are assigned to various playlists which can be accesses on the main page of my YouTube channel. There are about a dozen or so videos under the Education category which you might find useful. This link 'should' take you there:

Thank you Randy. Yes, I'm familiar with tradingview - still, the simplicity and clarity of your teaching has captured me completely. I spend many hours listening to lessons online this days and I can tell you honestly that you have missed your calling. I understand and respect your reasons but oh - how I wish to see more lessons from you. Anyway - Thank you so much and have a great life!!

I never did the follow-up as I started using the paid version of freestockcharts.com, TC2000, shortly after making that video. Over time, they have added many different features & different functionality between the free & premium charting platforms so I would have to become reacquainted with freestockcharts once more before being able to put together another video. If I can find the time to do so, I will be glad to. Until then, you might want to check out tradingview.com, which also offers a very userfriendly & feature rich free charting platform with a premium version available as well.

How is this for day trading?

Not bad. the update rate is quite good compared to Tradingview. especially on the high volume stocks. i use it for SPY trading.

Where the asset RWM is at the top showing different time frames, can that be changed?. What I mean is, does it need to open a new mini-window for each time frame instead of just a dropdown. I would like to put 5/6 assets across there instead. Also, if I put indicators on a chart is there a way to put the same settings on the other charts without having to do it manually every time.

do you know how to change the time zone?

Not sure how to change the time zone on TC2000 or if it is even possible. You might want to email them to ask: support@worden.com

Does anyone know how to pull up the ESU6/E-mini S&P500 chart on Freestockcharts.com? I've tried ESU16, ^ESU6, @ESU6, /ESU6.
Right Side of the Chart 1 year ago
Unless anything has changed recently, fsc.com does not provide charting for the e-mini index futures. Investing.com has free, real-time futures charts including the e-minis.

is there a part 2?
Right Side of the Chart 2 years ago
If I can find the time to catch up on the changes that have been made to fsc.com over the last few years, I would love to do a part 2. I've been using the paid version, TC2000 for a while now which has a lot of similarities but also quite a bit of different features & functionality.

This was a really useful video. I'm in the early stages of starting to understand the trading market and found this tutorial invaluable in helping me make the first steps to trading. Thank you

+Andy Janes You're most welcome & thanks for your feedback. Best of luck on your trading endeavors. I believe you'll find that nearly all of the same tools & strategies that you learn for trading via technical analysis will apply just as well to your long-term investing.

Question: i tried free version. it does not show updated charts. most likely 1 or 2 day old. with paid version do you get it updated? based on time?
Ilias Suleiman 1 year ago
That can happen if you accidentally drag the blue shaded area (time frame) to somewhere in the middle of your page.
Right Side of the Chart 2 years ago
+Muhammad Farhan I'm not sure why it wouldn't provide you with updated charts. FreeStockCharts.com has always provided real-time data for all stocks & ETFs that trade on the BATS exchange. I'm using the paid version, TC2000, and haven't noticed any changes. You might want to contact Worden Brothers. I believe there is a link to their customer service email address under the Help menu.

and Safari Forget Google. Ditched their browser and search engine long time ago. Google is getting too arrogant, want to rule the world. Time for YouTube being replaced, too. With what? Create something, lol!

I had the same problem. I downloaded and installed Mozilla Firefox. opened the freestockcharts website, which prompted me to update SilverLight. and that did it for me.

I'm not sure. The time that displays on the bottom of the chart for me is in the same time zone that I live in (UTC -0:500, Eastern Time US & Canada). I'm not sure if that time is displayed regardless of the actual time zone of each user or not. Also keep in mind that the time displayed on each stock or ETF is only updated during the regular trading hours and therefore continues to display as 4:00pm ET after the market closes and until it opens at 9:30am ET the next day (other than the currency pairs such as EUR/USD, which trade around the clock). I would suggest asking Worden Brothers about the time settings across various time zones. Their contact information (email & phone) can be found under the Help menu at the top of the FreeStocksCharts.com page.

Is there a way to change time setting? Meaning the real time clock in bottom right corner is showing different time that my local. what time zone is it ??
Andre Borisov 3 years ago
Thank you for reply. I'm in UTC+1 btw. It's not a big problem, and even helps to see Eastern Time on the go, but an option would be nice.

Hi there. Is their a way to measure pips with freestockcharts?
casanova1012 3 years ago
can you make a video on beta version 2?
Right Side of the Chart 3 years ago
I do plan to make an updated tutorial using the newer version of freestockcharts.com as soon as I get some time to play around with it. I've been using the paid version (TC2000) which is similar but does have quite a few differences, especially with configuring the various settings. I'll post an updated video after I've become familiar with the beta 2 version of fsc.com.  -Randy Phinney

with regards to the volume being on bottom..you can add volume onto the MCAD or stochastics.it will look the same just added to the other indicator and creates one indicator with everything on there and one can turn on and off stuff.OK

Andy132- Yes, I will try to make part two asap. I've been using TC2000 for a while now & will need to use FSC for a bit to become familiar with any updates over the last year or so. Although similar, there are quite a bit of differences in using the two platforms (TC2000 is the paid version of FSC). -RP

nicefish- Sorry to take so long to get back to you. Yes, both FSC & TC2000 allow for multiple charts. Although I believe that you can add as many charts as you like on TC2000, I think FSC limits you to 4 at once. If you only have one tab in use on FSC, click the new tab icon at the top of the chart. Once a 2nd tab is added, you should see to icons just to the left of the first tab. Click those to open multiple charts (one of two grid options). email with q's: randyatrightsideofthechartdotcom

Massimo- The symbol for the Australian stock market on FreeStockCharts & TC2000 is AORD-X (Sydney All Ordinaries Index). Sorry for the late reply, I don't regularly check my YouTube inbox. Take care- Randy Phinney

Great video and very helpful! Is there a way to get more than one chart showing at a time? I would love to be able to see about 30 smaller charts at a time but cannot figure out a way to do that with Free Stock Charts. Does the paid version (TC2000) allow for that?
Andy132 6 years ago
Can you make the part two? this was really useful.
Right Side of the Chart 6 years ago
Atemaatra- Yes,a couple of options for you. FSC is very limited on commodities charts but you can always use tracking etfs for most commodities (e.g.-JJC for copper, SLV for silver). Stockcharts has a more extensive line up of commodity charts or you can go to Forexpros to get real-time streaming charts on just about any commodity futures.all for free.(youtube won't allow me to type the links in these responses so just add the dot com to those sites above.)
